Do you struggle with ..

  • nightmares

  • depressed mood

  • vivid traumatic memories

  • panic attacks

  • trouble sleeping

  • loss of energy

  • difficulty concentrating

  • feelings of worthlessness and excessive guilt

Are you wanting to learn new coping skills as well as let go of the negative emotional weight?

There are treatments that are supported by rigorous research to help address these symptoms.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (or “EMDR” for short) addresses trauma, anxiety, and reduces obsessive thoughts as well as compulsions. Many clients enjoy this type of therapy, because in many it addresses trauma within a few short sessions. For more information on EMDR please see the following link: What Is EMDR?

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence based therapy for depression that helps clients with changing thinking patterns using problem solving, reality checking, and reframing techniques.

I was fortunate to be trained by EMDRIA for EMDR and BECK institute for CBT in order to provide all clients with quality care through an anti-oppressive lens. What is an anti-oppressive lens? A lot of what life tosses our way is out of our hands. There’s patriarchy, capitalism, white supremacy, homophobia, transphobia, fascism, and more in this world that impact so many people’s sense of safety, well being, and can even change ones perception of themselves over time. I acknowledge the very real challenges you face in this world, collaborate with you to set SMART goals, and use EMDR and/or CBT to take off some of the emotional weight.
