Megan Larson, LCSW “Therapy is not an expensive cup of coffee and conversation, it is a place to heal.”

Hey! I’m Megan (she/her), a queer licensed clinical social worker in the state of Oregon and Kentucky. In 2013, I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with two bachelor of arts degrees: psychology and Spanish. During my undergraduate degree I studied in three countries: the United States, Spain, and Chile. In 2015, I was blessed to graduate Magna Cum Laude from University of Tennessee Knoxville Graduate School of Social Work satellite campus in Nashville with a Master in Social Work with a specialization certification in Trauma Treatment.

Primarily, I treat women with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, and depression in adults. I also specialize in working with women in same-sex relationships. As an anti-oppressive practitioner— I am both LGBTQ Affirmative and believe Black Lives Matter.

Seven years ago, I met my gorgeous -now- husband. We have been married for 5 years now and live with our cat Thunder. I love to hike with my husband, travel with gal pals, and cook vegan food. I am always looking for more opportunities to volunteer on behalf of social justice, the environment, and animals.

Spiritually, I was raised in the Roman Catholic Church, but half of my family is Methodist and Evangelical. Now I attend my Catholic Church in Portland virtually and identify as Christian. I believe, like Huston Smith, that at the end of the day all religions have the same desire to be close to the same God and everyone wants to become better humans. The goal is to love God through our actions and coexist in peace.
